Invitation to a formal disciplinary hearing (written warning previously issued)
This part of the formal disciplinary process involves written warnings.
This letter should be used to invite an employee to a formal disciplinary hearing where the employee has previously been issued with a written warning (that is still current).
The aim of this disciplinary hearing is to formally address the employee's persistent failure to adhere to behaviour, conduct and performance levels required, or to address a relatively serious disciplinary matter.
The hearing will also record the formal discussion held between an employee and their supervisor or manager, or a senior employee of the company.
This standard letter ensures managers adhere to the DDP regulations when inviting employees to a formal disciplinary hearing by:
- inviting an employee to a meeting
- confirming the hearing details
- itemising the allegations
- advising the right to be accompanied
- informing persons who will be present at the hearing
This disciplinary hearing could result in a final written warning being issued to an employee.
(A final written warning may follow a previous verbal and written warning, or may be the first disciplinary sanction issued to an employee where the nature of disciplinary offence is relatively serious, and would therefore be classed as a "first and final written warning").
