Invitation to a formal disciplinary hearing (verbal warning previously issued)

The formal disciplinary process includes both verbal and written warnings.

This letter should be used to invite an employee to a second formal disciplinary hearing where they have previously been given a formal verbal warning (that is still current).

The aim of the disciplinary hearing will be to formally address the continued behaviour, conduct or performance issue, and record any formal discussions held between an employee and their supervisor or manager.

This standard letter ensures managers adhere to the DDP regulations when inviting employees to a formal disciplinary hearing by:

  • inviting an employee to a meeting
  • confirming the hearing details
  • itemising the allegations
  • advising the right to be accompanied
  • informing persons who will be present at the hearing
