Invitation to a Formal Disciplinary Hearing (First Action - no previous warnings)
The formal disciplinary process includes both verbal and written warnings.
This letter should be used to invite an employee to a formal disciplinary hearing where no previous formal disciplinary action has been taken.
The aim of the disciplinary hearing will be to formally address the minor inappropriate behaviour, conduct or poor performance issue, and record any formal discussions held between an employee and their supervisor or manager.
This standard letter ensures managers adhere to the DDP regulations when inviting employees to a formal disciplinary hearing by:
- inviting an employee to a meeting
- confirming the hearing details
- itemising the allegations
- advising the right to be accompanied
- informing persons who will be present at the hearing
