Invitation to a formal disciplinary hearing (for gross misconduct)
The formal disciplinary process includes both verbal and written warnings.
The aim being to formally address inappropriate behaviour or conduct, and record any formal discussions held between an employee and their supervisor or manager.
This standard letter ensures managers adhere to the DDP regulations when inviting employees to a formal disciplinary hearing by:
- inviting an employee to a meeting
- confirming the hearing details
- itemising the allegations
- advising the right to be accompanied
- informing persons who will be present at the hearing
This letter should be used to invite an employee to a formal disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct where a disciplinary matter is extremely serious.
(In grosss misconduct situationss no previous warnings need to have been given.)
